Twenty-nine-year-old Brittany Maynard of Oregon ended her life on November 2. Maynard suffered from stage 4 glioblastoma, an incurable cancer of the brain. She made her choice to pursue physician-assisted suicide after researching what she would face as she approached the end of life and deciding to spare herself and her family the pain and indignities to come.
